Social Security Guidance through Opera?

June 3, 2008 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Pre-retirees can enjoy a class-filled night of opera without having to dress up by visiting SecurePath's online opera.

SecurePath by Transamerica, a service of Transamerica Retirement Management, Inc., announced it has released its online production of The Social Security Opera. The production is intended to demonstrate that applying for Social Security benefits is not a daunting task.

Sung to the melody of three famous operas — Habanera, La Donna E Mobile, and Les Toreadors — the opera follows a husband and wife as they contemplate filing for their Social Security benefits, according to the announcement.

“Part of our goal at SecurePath by Transamerica is to help bring clarity to the various aspects of retirement transition that pre-retirees might find confusing and interfere with a smooth transition to retirement. Helping them better understand the process of tapping into their Social Security benefits, which, for most of us, will be a financial cornerstone in retirement, is a natural place to start,” said Phil Eckman, CEO of Transamerica Retirement Management, Inc., in the announcement.
