Software Aligns Employee Performance with Business Results

April 10, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Lawson Software has launched a solution to help align individual employee performance with an organization's business results.

Lawson Performance Management is an expansion of the company’s Human Capital Management suite and provides an objective way to measure an employee’s goal attainment and specific behaviors that impact his overall performance, according to the announcement.

Lawson partnered with global HR consulting firm Personnel Decisions International (PDI) for the product’s performance measurement functionality, the announcement said. Users will access Lawson Performance Management via Lawson’s Self Service applications, which will incorporate behavioral measurements from PDI’s TalentView application and other performance management data.

PDI’s standards measure individual performance using concrete administration rules, resulting in reduced rater error and consistency across an organization. It also provides organizations with ranked performance results so leaders can determine how to best invest in and develop their workforce.

In addition, the performance management tool also includes new GoalView and reporting components to offer end users a way to measure both the results of employee performance and how those results are achieved. The GoalView application helps both employees and managers set up, evaluate and prioritize their goals and objectives. Employees and managers can view their progress toward completing goals at any time via Lawson Employee Self Service. Then with the help of embedded workflow and proactive notification capabilities, the system can be set up to support a process to measure goal attainment.

New reports will deliver feedback for employee development as well as stacked rankings to give managers meaningful and defensible performance appraisal results and future decision support, the announcment said.

Lawson Performance Management will become generally available within Lawson’s current fiscal quarter, which ends May 31, 2006.   Go to  www.lawson.com for more information.
