Study: At-Work Web Users Aren't Exactly Low Rent

February 20, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Nearly four out of 10 working Americans regularly surf the Web from the office, according to a new study.

The study by eMarketer, as reported by The Wall Street Journal Online, said the 50 million office Web users are no low-rent bunch: More than 70% have a college degree or higher and roughly half have household incomes of $75,000 or more. Almost nine out of 10 do their office surfing on a broadband connection.

According to the study, the at-work surfers use the occasion to contribute to the economy with 60% of online dollars spent in the workplace.
