Style Based ETFs Begin Trading in Toronto

December 7, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - TD Asset Management launched the first Canadian style-based exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

The ETFs, based on the Dow Jones Canada TopCap Value and Growth Indices are:

– the TD Select Canadian Value Index Fund and
– the TD Select Canadian Growth Index Fund

An ETF is a similar to a mutual fund in that its a basket of securities that is listed on a stock exchange. However, ETFs are bought and sold during the day like stocks.

The TD Select Canadian Value Index Fund comprises Canadian value companies included in the Dow Jones Canada TopCap Value Index. Its investment objective is to provide long-term growth of capital by replicating the performance of the index.

The TD Select Canadian Growth Index Fund is made up of Canadian growth companies that are constituents of the Dow Jones Canada TopCap Growth Index. Its investment objective is to provide long-term growth of capital by replicating the performance of the index.

The new ETFs begin trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange today.
