Tardiness, Poor Grooming Remain Top Interview Missteps
May 28, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - In a BLR poll conducted earlier this month, employers agreed that the worst interview mistake a candidate can make is arriving late.
Reported by PLANSPONSOR staff
Of the more than 250 employers responding to the poll, 38% ranked arriving late as the worst interview mistake. Arriving poorly dressed/groomed came in second place with 28% of respondents selecting this as the worst interview mistake, according to a BLR.
Nearly a quarter (22%) of respondents said knowing nothing about the company is the top misstep of interviewees, while 10% chose being occupied with pay. BLR said tardiness and poor grooming retained the top spots since a similar 2006 survey, but knowing nothing about the company is a new third place.
