Temp Work Provides Qualifications

December 3, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Forty-six percent of workers believe temporary work provides the best insight into qualification for a job, according to a survey conducted by administrative professional staffing service OfficeTeam.

Interviewing 567 full time employed professionals through an independent research organization, OfficeTeam asked, “Which one of the following provides the most insight into whether or not someone is qualified for a job? ” The result showed the best qualifiers for a job to be:

  • 46% – Performance on a temporary to trial basis before a full-time offer is made
  • 30% – The interview
  • 12% – The reference check
  •   8% – The resume
  •   2% – The cover letter
  •   1% – Something else
  •   1% – Don’t know/no answer
