The Hartford Expands DCIO Sales Force

March 25, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The Hartford has expanded its team of sales consultants who serve the investment needs of defined contribution plans, "as part of a broader strategy to continue growing its assets under management for retirement plans," the firm said.

The Hartford’s Defined Contribution Investment Only (DCIO) group now has eight consultants supporting the retail and institutional retirement plan markets, adding three new consultants to provide improved coverage nationwide.  The unit supports sales of The Hartford Mutual Funds and fixed annuities to sponsors of defined contribution retirement plans that separate their investment and recordkeeping services within the 401(k) corporate, 457 government, and 403(b) educational markets.

According to the announcement, with The Hartford Mutual Funds, retirement plan sponsors can choose from a broad range of more than 50 mutual funds spread across all investment styles.  The funds are offered as Class R Shares (R3, R4, and R5) and Class Y Shares.
