In this role, Shamburger is responsible for sales of 401(k) defined contribution plans and for maintaining relationships with third-party administrators (TPAs).

He was most recently divisional vice president of the southern division, after joining The Hartford in 2004 as regional sales director. Before joining The Hartford, Shamburger served as a vice president of institutional sales for Trusco Capital Management and previously was in sales with Great West Life.
