The Hartford Offers FMLA Administration Program

January 31, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The Hartford Financial Services Group is now offering a program that helps employers to administer and track employee absences associated with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

The Hartford’s Integrated Disability and FMLA Administration program is a single-source solution that helps employers understand and administer a variety of employee absences in order to reduce lost time costs and maximize workplace productivity, according to the firm.   The service is available to large employers with 2,000 or more employees who purchase The Hartford’s group short- and long-term disability plans.

The Hartford’s service is integrated with its group short-term and long-term disability plans, and is available with The Hartford’s Integrated Benefits program for employers seeking a seamless solution that incorporates absences related to workers’ compensation, according to the firm.

It is staffed by The Hartford’s absence coordinators who access an acquired in-house system to administer federal, state, and employer-specific leaves, and to capture the data needed to track leave status and understand absence drivers.

The FMLA grants up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave for certain family and medical reasons, and provides for the continuation of health benefits during leave for employees and employers who meet certain eligibility requirements.
