TIAA-CREF Turns to Connie Weaver for Marketing Slot

April 16, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – Connie K. Weaver has joined TIAA-CREF as executive vice president, chief marketing and communications officer, the company announced.

A news release said Weaver will oversee the company’s marketing, brand management, advertising, market research and analytics, corporate communications, and digital strategy functions.

Weaver joins TIAA-CREF from The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. where she was senior vice president in charge of marketing and communications. Previously, she was executive vice president and chief marketing officer at BearingPoint.

Weaver will succeed Steve Goldstein, executive vice president for public affairs and marketing, when he steps down on June 30. She will be based at TIAA-CREF’s New York City headquarters.

Weaver holds a B.S. from the University of Maryland and has completed post-graduate financial management, marketing and strategic planning courses at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, and Imede (Switzerland), as well as an executive program in finance from Stanford University.
