Tool for Advisers Aids in Investment Selection

September 13, 2006 ( - DWS Scudder has announced a service designed to help financial advisers facilitate the investment selection process with prospective plan sponsors considering conversion to a DWS Scudder retirement plan.

According to a press release, Fiduciary Investment Reporting Manager (FiRM) produces a report providing an analysis of the plan’s investment mandate and comparing suitable mapping alternatives with each of its current investment vehicles.

FiRM reports score each investment in terms of the plan sponsor’s Investment Policy Statement (IPS) and in relation to their peer group, benchmark and proposed replacement funds.

In addition the reports:

  • provide a graphic view of the plan portfolio’s coverage across the universe of equity and fixed income investment styles based on Morningstar’s style box analysis, and
  • highlight funds that may no longer be consistent with the plan’s IPS.
