Towers Perrin Expands Benefit Consulting Tools

October 22, 2001(PLANSPONSOR.com) - Towers Perrin will enhance its benefit consulting services with the addition of access to MEDSTAT's national healthcare databases.

In addition, Towers Perrin will license healthcare cost, use, and quality benchmarks from MEDSTAT’s healthcare databases. These benchmarks are critical to employers who seek to understand benefit plan performance and the clinical appropriateness of services provided.

Towers Perrin will also work with MEDSTAT to provide employers with access to management information about the performance of their health benefit programs.

The Web-based system being offered includes standard management reports designed to monitor cost and quality, and flag areas for potential improvement.

Towers Perrin clients will benefit by using the front-end reporting tool targeted at identifying the specific drivers of healthcare costs. They will be able to match their results against benchmarks from MEDSTAT’s significant normative database, which allows for demographic, geographic, and industry comparisons.
