Transamerica To Offer Participants Self-Directed Brokerage

March 22, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Transamerica Retirement Services will offer self-directed brokerage services to its employee benefit plan participants via CSFBdirect, the online brokerage service of Credit Suisse First Boston.

Transamerica Retirement Services’ employee benefit plan clients who choose the self-directed brokerage option will have access to a range of investment products and services from CSFBdirect, including:

  • trading in stocks, mutual funds, IPOs (for qualified investors)
  • online and wireless account access
  • real-time quotes and news.

Los Angeles-based Transamerica Retirement Services ( www.TA-Retirement.com ), provides 401(k) and profit-sharing plan services to small-and-medium-sized businesses.  They currently administer more than 7,850 plans with approximately 400,000 participants as of December 31, 2000, according to the press release.
