Trivial Pursuits: Did the Lone Ranger's Nephew Have a Horse?

December 22, 2009 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - In the 1983 now-classic “A Christmas Story”, Ralphie’s Mom offers the answer to a crossword puzzle about the great characters in American literature – the name of the Lone Ranger’s nephew’s horse.

But was there such an animal?  And, if so, was she right?

Answer:

Turns out Mrs. Parker’s memory is correct. The Lone Ranger’s nephew, Dan Reid, rode a horse named “Victor”.

A horse, it should be noted, that had another familial connection; Victor was the son of the Lone Ranger’s horse, Silver.
