Nearly everyone knows that American astronauts first landed on the moon in Apollo 11 in July 1969, and many are familiar with the aborted mission of Apollo 13.

But, do you know how many times American astronauts successfully landed on the moon?
From 1969 to 1972, there were six successful lunar landing missions, starting with Apollo 11 and ending with Apollo 17, and one aborted mission, Apollo 13.
