According to www.mnteverest.net, Temba Tsheri, 15, from Nepal was the youngest person to reach the peak of Mount Everest, and did so on May 22, 2001.
Sherman Bull, 64, of New Canaan, Connecticut, is reportedly the oldest person to do so, on May 25, 2001.
