TRIVIAL PURSUITS: What did Americans think about Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal programs?

February 14, 2012 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Results of the very first Gallup poll were released on October 20, 1935.

The question was: “Do you think expenditures by the government for relief and recovery are too little, too great, or just about right?”   

What did Americans think about Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal programs?

Results showed 9% of respondents said the expenditures were too little, 31% said about right, and 60% thought they were too great.
