US Sales and Marketing Heads Among Highest Paid Globally
UK-based heads of sales and marketing earn $235,700, according to a Mercer press release on the survey. Mexico, Brazil and Canada rounded out the top five in pay to heads of sales and marketing with median total annual cash of $235,500, $222,900 and $215,400, respectively.
The lowest paid heads of sales and marketing are in Bulgaria ($41,300), Indonesia ($50,900) and India ($54,500).
While sales and marketing heads in the US are among the highest paid globally, US-based sales managers are ranked 24 th in pay for this position with median annual total cash of $67,300, the release said. Sales managers fare better in Switzerland ($150,400), Germany ($133,500) and Brazil ($123,600).
Other survey findings include:
- US sales and marketing heads earn nearly six times that of US sales representatives with median total cash of $47,300.
- India places most emphasis on pay for performance, paying heads of sales and marketing 56% of total cash compensation as variable pay.
