VALIC Hires Leader for K-12 Retirement Plan Biz

May 6, 2011 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – VALIC has recruited John Kevin as Vice President, K-12 Market Management.

In this role, Kevin will oversee VALIC’s overall growth and development in the K-12 retirement plan market by establishing and maintaining key relationships and identifying new opportunities in the market space. He will be based in Maryland and will report to Glenn Harris, Executive Vice President, Group Management and National Markets.  

According to a news release, prior to joining VALIC, Kevin served as the Investment Officer for Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland, solely responsible for the daily management of both the defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans. During his time as Investment Officer, he managed the 403(b) and 457(b) plans for over 12,000 active participants. Previously, he served as Principal, Risk Management and Quantitative Research at MTB Investment Advisors.   

Kevin received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance from Temple University. He is a CFA Institute member.
