VBS Launches Health Care Program for Low-Salary Workers

April 1, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Voluntary Benefits Solutions (VBS) has launched a health care program for hourly workers.

VBS, through a special government code, can bring affordable health care to workers who make between $6.75 and $16 an hour and who have at least one dependent child, according to a press release from the company. The worker can be full- or part-time, temporary or contracted.

Major comprehensive and supplemental benefits are available through the company. Also provided are HR and payroll departments that can smooth the process of implementation, according to the company press release.

VBS claims that companies can lower their existing premium costs by 50% and can keep their current health network, providers and doctors,

VBS is licensed to operate in eight states, according to the company, and have licenses pending in ten others. The states already licensed include California and Georgia, which are two of the states with the highest population of uninsured working families, the company says.
