Vestwell Launches PEP for Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner Program

The company intends to bring retirement savings to the historically underserved group of workers.

Vestwell, a financial technology company that offers workplace savings solutions, has launched a pooled employer plan for participants in Amazon Inc.’s Delivery Service Partner Program, through which independent businesses receive support from Amazon to deliver packages using Amazon-branded vehicles.

Vestwell announced the new product Tuesday, the same day the product became available for purchase by delivery companies in the Amazon program.

According to Vestwell, the defined contribution plan was designed to support delivery associates across the U.S., who are part of an industry that has historically lacked access to retirement savings opportunities. The DSP network, launched in 2018, consists of 4,400 delivery companies and 390,000 driving jobs, according to information published by Amazon in 2024.

“Our goal is to make workplace savings easier and more inclusive for every type of business—whether you’re at a desk, on the move, or delivering across town,” said Aaron Schumm, founder and CEO of Vestwell, in a statement. “Every worker deserves a financial safety net. This solution is about helping the people who power our everyday lives access retirement plans built for their reality—mobile, multilingual, and easy to use.”

Vestwell serves as the pooled plan provider for the PEP, managing fiduciary and administrative responsibilities, plan onboarding and operations, according to the announcement. It offers PEPs, as well as multiple employer plans and groups of plans, for advisers, payroll providers and professional employer organizations.

Vestwell provides solutions that manage more than $35 billion in assets for nearly 1.5 million participants across the U.S., as of June 24.
