Watson Wyatt Adds IBM Business Consulting

February 3, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Watson Wyatt has expanded its actuarial consulting capabilities, with the addition of the life actuarial consulting group from IBM Business Consulting Services.

Acquired by IBM during the October 2002 acquisition of PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting, the life actuarial group includes twenty practitioners with expertise in life actuarial consulting, specifically in the areas of actuarial, M&A, demutualization and rehabilitation services, according to the firm.

These practitioners were part of the IBM Business Consulting Services Insurance practice, which provided information technology services and business transformation solutions to the insurance industry globally.

Headquartered in Boston, Watson Wyatt’s Insurance & Financial Services practice provides a range of consulting services globally, from the strategic to the technical actuarial.   It provides these services to a wide variety of clients including banks, captive insurance companies/self-insured corporations, fund managers, government and quasi-government bodies, life/general/health insurance companies, insurance industry associations, insurance regulators, intermediaries and re-insurance companies.

The U.S. Watson Wyatt IFS practice also has offices in New York, Los Angeles and Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.
