Watson Wyatt Names New Chief HR Officer
According to a press release, Mele will will be based in the Washington, D.C. office and assume responsibility for all human resources initiatives for the firm’s 7,000 employees worldwide.
He most recently held the position of chief people and technology officer at Mercer HR Consulting. Prior to that, he held senior level human resource positions in the United Kingdom and continental Europe at Prudential International, Standard Chartered Bank, Clearstream, and Schlumberger.
“We are very pleased to have someone with Steve’s extensive background and abilities to oversee our HR initiatives,” said John Haley, president and CEO of Watson Wyatt, in the press release. “His wealth and breadth of experience provides us with a truly global HR perspective that reflects the geographic diversity of our associates and clients. He will be a terrific addition to our leadership team.”
