Wells Fargo Names Regional Managing Director

October 26, 2011 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Wells Fargo Insurance Services USA, Inc. has named John Meder, regional managing director for its Midwest region, which includes Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Missouri.

In his role, Meder will lead sales efforts, cross sell initiatives, and expansion of the region’s employee benefits practice. He will be based in Cleveland and report to Kevin Kenny, east area brokerage manger for Wells Fargo Insurance Services.

According to a press release, priior to joining Wells Fargo, Meder was head of Wachovia Insurance Services’ Ohio operations, and also led the company’s Real Estate Industry Practice. Prior to joining Wachovia, he was senior vice president and member of the executive committee for the Ohio operations of Marsh, where he held various positions including client executive, middle market department manager, and Cleveland sales leader.

Meder is past president of the Central Ohio Chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society, and served as a society director to the Risk and Insurance Management Society.

He is a graduate of Ohio State University, where he received a bachelor of science degree in business administration with a major in finance/risk management and insurance.
