Workers Value Dental Coverage
The poll, taken by Taylor Nelson/Sofres Intersearch for a national dental benefits company, found that nearly eight of ten respondents view dental benefits are an important component of a company benefit plan.
Asked how much of an impact it would be if their employer slashed dental coverage or jacked up their contributions:
- some 41% felt this would be a significant loss,
- 19% felt that their employer would have to be forced into such a move in order to reduce expenses, and
- 38% either “strongly agreed” or “somewhat agreed” that such a move was probably done “to improve the bottom line”
Further, some 41.2% of respondents consider dental insurance to be only a minor part of the national trend toward skyrocketing health premiums, while 22.8% don’t consider dental insurance to be a part of the problem at all.
The survey, conducted for Delta Dental Plans in California, Pennsylvania and affiliated companies in 16 states and the District of Columbia, covered 1,025 people.
