WWE Denies Firing General Counsel

May 14, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – World Wrestling Entertainment has denied firing its former general counsel over allegations of sexual harassment.

In an e-mail to CorpCounsel.com, part of Law.com, the WWE said general counsel Jared Bartie “was not terminated by WWE.” The email said Bartie and the company parted ways amicably, and James Langham is now the WWE’s acting general counsel, according to Law.com.

A female former worker from the WWE sales department accused Bartie of making unwanted sexual advances on her at a Wrestlemania 26 after-party in late March (see WWE General Counsel Pinned for Inappropriate Behavior). It was reported the accuser was subsequently fired for engaging in a sex act with a subordinate male employee at the WWE’s work offices, during work hours.
