Health Insurance Plans not the Most Popular Wellness Services Provider
July 31, 2007 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - A greater number
of employees trust an employee assistance program over their
health insurance plan to provide wellness services, a recent
poll suggests.
Reported by Adrien Martin
The poll of about 1,000 employees by ComPsych, a employee assistance program provider, found that more than half of respondents (51%) said they would most trust an employee assistance program to provide wellness services such as health risk assessments and coaching on personal health, weight loss, tobacco cessation, etc.
Just more than a quarter (27%) of respondents say they would trust their health insurance plan to provide these services, followed by 14% who said a disease management provider and 8% said a pharmaceutical benefit manager.
