Arthur S Mole and John D Thomas have taken some incredible pictures of thousands of soldiers forming icons of American history. Arthur’s great nephew Joseph Mole, 70, says: “In the picture of the Statue of Liberty there are 18,000 men: 12,000 of them in the torch alone, but just 17 at the base. The men at the top of the picture are actually half a mile away from the men at the bottom.

TRIVIAL PURSUITSWhile "Camaro" is a word with a meaning, when it was unveiled journalists were said to have asked Chevrolet product managers "What is a Camaro?"

Their response was classic:

In announcing the Camaro, Chevrolet General Manager Pete Estes reportedly said that Chevrolet chose the name in keeping with other car names beginning with the letter C such as the Corvair, Chevelle, Chevy II, and Corvette. He claimed the name, "suggests the comradeship of good friends as a personal car should be to its owner" and that "to us, the name means just what we think the car will do... Go!"

However, perhaps not finding that to be a compelling rationale, when journalists asked "What is a Camaro?" - they were told it was "a small, vicious animal that eats Mustangs ⁽¹⁾ ."

⁽¹⁾ the Ford Mustang, of course, being the vehicle that GM hoped to "dethrone" with its new entry).

Today happens to be "Middle Child's Day" - a day set aside to for those whose birth order places them squarely in the "middle."
