Aetna Allows Program Consent via IVR

November 15, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Aetna has announced the availability of an interactive voice response system that allows participants in both its disability and medical insurance plans to grant consent to participate in its Integrated Health and Disability program (IHD).

In an Aetna press release, Caren Kittredge, head of Disability Product for Aetna, said Voice2Form gives the insured members’ consent in real time allowing appropriate medical management referrals and care plan coordination to begin immediately. Telephone consent is already being used successfully by those filing disability claims with the insurer, the press release said.

In addition, Aetna announced members can also provide consent online via Aetna Navigator. Members can submit an electronic signature in real time and print a copy for their records.

Aetna programs to which IHD members are referred include:

  • Case management,
  • Disease Management programs,
  • Wellness Programs,
  • Ergonomic Assessment,
  • Vocational Rehabilitation,
  • Worksite Accommodations,
  • Moms-to-Babies Maternity Management Program, and
  • Aetna Behavioral Health.
