AFL-CIO Sees More Demand for Employee Rights
Findings of the study, titled Workers’ Rights in America: What Workers Think About Their Jobs and Employers, show that 63% of respondents said they have some or not much trust in employers to treat employees fairly.
In addition, 56% of respondents believe that new laws are needed to hold corporations to a higher standard of responsibility in the way they treat workers, compared with 44% in the 1996 survey
Further, almost 60% believe that management has too much power compared with the power held by workers. Almost half the respondents in the earlier survey felt that way.
The survey was conducted by Hart Research Associates, which surveyed 1,792 adults.
