Aguirre Fights on in San Diego Pension Controversy
Aguirre has asked the 4 th District Court of Appeal to review last year’s San Diego Superior Court decision against the elimination of the benefits, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
In the ruling against Aguirre in August, Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Barton applied a one-year statute of limitations to Aguirre’s allegations of conflict-of-interest in the making of government contracts (See San Diego Illegal Pension Challenge too Late: Judge ). The benefits in question were granted in 1996 and 2002.
Employee union attorneys have maintained the benefits should not be disturbed.
