NOMINATOR COMMENTS
“Eventide Asset Management’s tagline “Investing that makes the world rejoice” highlights a core value of the company’s investment philosophy: seeking out companies [to invest in] that contribute to human flourishing in several key areas. But this is not just an investment philosophy; it’s a core value Eventide applies to itself as it seeks to support its employees through top-class benefits.
As its 3(38) investment manager and participant financial adviser, it is wonderful supporting a company that strives to practice what it preaches: Companies that support employees contribute to human flourishing and help the business itself to thrive.”
PLANSPONSOR: Please cite any noteworthy initiatives you have taken in the past 24 to 36 months that have produced results to improve your plan, and describe the results.
Eventide: The following explains our efforts.
- Immediate Plan Access and Personalized Enrollment Support
We believe in setting our employees up for success from day one. New hires are welcomed into the plan immediately upon employment, with our financial adviser meeting one-on-one with each participant within the first two weeks. This personalized approach ensures employees fully understand their options, make informed decisions, and feel confident about their retirement savings strategy. Additionally, our financial adviser remains readily available for individual meetings at employees’ convenience, reinforcing ongoing engagement. - Competitive Employer Match and Early Participation
To further encourage participation, we offer a dollar-for-dollar match up to $9,000, with eligibility beginning immediately upon hire. This substantial benefit underscores our commitment to employee financial well-being and serves as a strong incentive for early and sustained savings. - Ongoing Education and Employee-Centric Enhancements
We prioritize continuous financial education by offering regularly scheduled programs that reinforce the benefits of the plan, provide investment updates, and encourage best practices such as keeping beneficiary designations current. Additionally, we actively listen to employee feedback. For example, in response to participant requests, we introduced Roth conversions to expand tax-efficient savings opportunities.
Results and Impact—These initiatives have led to outstanding engagement, with an impressive 96% participation rate in our plan. Employees consistently express appreciation for the hands-on support and generous benefits, leading to higher confidence in their financial future. The ability to engage directly with a financial adviser has empowered them to make informed decisions, maximizing the plan’s effectiveness in preparing them for retirement.
Through these strategic efforts, we have cultivated a culture where retirement readiness is a priority, ensuring our employees have the tools, resources and support necessary to build a secure financial future.
PLANSPONSOR: Please explain the ongoing governance efforts of those involved with the plan, meant to ensure its compliance and effective operation.
Eventide: Our fiduciary committee includes four Eventide leaders—chief financial officer; chief legal counsel; head of human resources; and portfolio manager, director of asset allocation services—and two members of Beacon Wealth Consultants, which is our plan adviser. This team has quarterly due diligence meetings to proactively review the investment lineup, assess fiduciary scores, and ensure the plan continues to provide diverse, high-quality investment options. To enhance oversight and decisionmaking, we have engaged a 3(38) investment manager, allowing us to offer professional fund management and an optimized selection of investments tailored to employees’ needs.
This year, for our Plan Sponsor of the Year profiles, we are publishing Q&As based on the finalists’ applications and nominator comments. Responses are edited and may be paraphrased. In cases where the finalist self-nominated or, on its application, referred judges to the nomination for the answer, we have attributed those nominator answers to the plan sponsor.
