Bank of America Merrill Lynch Rebrands Institutional Consulting Group

October 4, 2011 (PLANSPONSOR.com) – Bank of America Merrill Lynch has renamed its Institutional Consulting Group as Global Institutional Consulting (GIC).

Tom McAuliffe is Managing Director and Head of Global Institutional Consulting for Bank of America Merrill Lynch.   In this role, he is responsible for leading business strategy and execution, improving risk management, and ensuring the development and delivery of institutional investment solutions to pension plans, foundations, endowments, and other institutional clients.  

Prior to joining Bank of America Merrill Lynch in April 2011, McAuliffe served as Director of Graystone Consulting, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s investment consulting group, serving institutional investors and high net-worth clients. In this role, he was responsible for day to day business management, including support for financial advisers providing investment advisory and fiduciary services to institutional clients.  Before joining Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, he served as Director of Institutional Consulting for UBS.   

McAuliffe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Northeastern University.  

In addition, a veteran team of institutionally-focused advisers has recently joined the firm from Convergent Wealth Advisors. With an average of more than 20 years of institutional client experience, this team, led by George Dunn, Peter Dunne, and Bruce Wall, manages more than $2.7 billion in assets.
