DailyAccess Names Leadership Trio

August 15, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The Board of Directors for retirement plan service provider DailyAccess has named a new leadership group in the wake of firm president and CEO Greg Carpenter's resignation.

The Board selected three new officers to manage and lead the company. The trio will be filling the roles of Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, according to a news release.

Named to the CEO role was Tommy Thomasson, a former executive vice president and co-founder of DailyAccess. Thomasson, who has been with the company since 1995, was largely responsible for bringing DailyAccess from a concept to reality, the release said.

Prior to this stint at DailyAccess, Thomasson spent five years as a financial consultant withMerrill Lynch in Mobile, AL, focusing on the 401(k) market. Thomasson also owned and operated aregistered investment advisory firm, Financial Asset Management Services,Inc., which provided money management services to private and institutionalclients. He holds a BA from Washington & Lee University.

Assuming the CFO mantle will be Carl Dekle, who joined DailyAccess in 1997 as the firm’s controller. In November 1998, he was promoted to the position of director of business development where his focus was on building strong relationships with select mutual fund companies.

Before signing on with DailyAccess, Dekle’s service record included stops at KPMG Peat Marwick, Johnson & Johnson, Inc., Ruby Tuesday Group and Teledyne, Inc., where he played key roles in financial activities, vendor negotiations, and directing multiple projects. Dekle holds a BS in accounting from the University of Alabama and is a certified public accountant (CPA) in both Alabama and Florida.

The new COO will be Gregg Wood, who joined DailyAccess in 1997. In the new role, Wood will continue to be responsible for day-to-day operations, including all processing, plan administration and the firm’s custodial relationships. He will also continue to oversee the departments of Information Technology, New Business/Conversion and Customer Service, and will also have the Marketing and Sales department under his watch.

Previously, Wood served as director of operations for Nextel International where he completed the startup of Nextel’s operations in Argentina. Prior to working in Argentina, Wood held the positions of general manager of Nextel, Florida, and vice president of operations for Saber Communications. Wood holds a BS in accounting from the University of South Alabama and is a CPA in Alabama.
