Deloitte Site Draws a Bead on Corporate Governance

June 5, 2007 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Deloitte & Touche USA LLP has launched a new Web site as a resource on corporate governance issues.

The new online Center for Corporate Governance ( http://www.corpgov.deloitte.com ) is a publicly available online resource that offers updated governance information for board of directors, c-suite executives, investors, attorneys and others interested in governance.  

Featuring issues related to audit committees, board governance, and compensation committees, the site is designed as an online resource that provides timely and relevant thought-ware as well as other information, according to a press release, including a list of Deloitte webcasts, podcasts and events focused on governance issues.   Monthly postings on relevant topics, discussions regarding governance issues and data on board practices and composition are also available.

Governance data available on the  site includes:

  • Audit Committees: Focusing on the increased responsibilities of audit committees, this section contains information on the role of the committee, performance evaluat ions, working with internal and external auditors, whistleblower provisions and risk oversight.
  • Board Governance: Questions addressed include: What are the roles and responsibilities of the board?   How does a company develop and evaluate its board members?   What are the essential elements of an effective ethics and compliance program?
  • Compensation Committees: Spotlighting director and executive compensation, this section includes information about the changing responsibilities of this committee following the adoption of the SEC’s executive compensation disclosure rules.
