DST Adds Function-Level Security to RK Platform

June 10, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - DST Systems has added function-level security capabilities to its TRAC Plan Sponsor site allowing plan providers to "turn on" individual functions only for the people who need them.

A DST news release said the enhancement to its TRAC recordkeeping system let providers who use the TRAC platform turn over more administrative functions to plan sponsors and third party administrators (TPAs) by controlling access to key functions.

According to the announcement, DST’s enhancement gives the plan provider more flexibility over the functions it chooses to make available on its site, which encourages the plan provider to release more over to the plan sponsor client or a TPA by making sure only the right person can use the right function.

For example, according to the announcement, a plan provider may choose to make payroll-only functions available to operators with payroll responsibilities, while making other functions, such as plan-level inquiry, available to the CFO.

DST announced a new graphical interface for TRAC in November 2004 (See . DST Releases Enhanced TRAC Recordkeeping System ).
