Financial Concerns Top the List of Work/Life Challenges

February 28, 2007 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Financial concerns ranked as the top challenge for workers in 2007, followed by the struggle to find a balance between work and life, according to a recent poll.

The online poll by LifeCare, a specialty care service provider in the work/life industry, found that 31% of respondents are worried about financial issues; 24%, work/life balance; 12% health and wellness matters; 10%, child care; 8%, adult care; and 3%, legal issues.

“Finances and work/life balance are the traditional hot-buttons facing employees, which is one of the reasons we continue to expand the array of educational tools and resources we offer to clients in these areas,” said LifeCare CEO, Peter Burki, in a press release. However, the Westport, Connecticut-based company said the most interesting finding in the poll was that concerns about adult care nearly matched concerns on child care.

The poll was conducted on LifeCare’s Web site throughout the month of January by employees and members of its 1,500 client companies. The company provides resource and referral services addressing a wide range of work/life issues.
