FTSE Adjusts FTSE 100 Benchmark

September 11, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The FTSE Group has dropped three companies from its blue chip FTSE 100 Index, the index company announced.

Deleted from the FTSE 100 list are British Airways, EMI Group, and International Power. They will be replaced by Rexam, Tomkins, and Alliance UniChem, the index company said in a media release.
 
FTSE also added four companies to its FTSE 250 index:

  • William Hill
  • Burberry Group
  • HMV Group
  • Punch Taverns. 

Deletions from the FTSE 250 include British Energy, Autonomy Corporation and Marlborough Stirling Plc, FTSE said.
 
Changes to the UK indices, made after the quarterly meeting of the FTSE independent advisory committee Wednesday, will be applied after the close of business on September 20, 2002.
