Hedge Fund Marketplace Opens

October 22, 2001(PLANSPONSOR.com) - HedgeWorld Markets Limited has opened their hedge fund marketplace, HedgeWorld FundSelect, and eventually plans to make it available to institutional investors.

The platform, modeled after the mutual fund marketplaces created over the last decade, is currently available to offshore high-net worth individuals and advisers. Availability will be extended to those in the US in the early months of 2002, with a rollout to institutional investors sometime after that.

Platform

HedgeWorld FundSelect is a global no-transaction fee marketplace for clients to research, select and invest in single and multi-manager hedge funds through an online platform assisted by offline account representatives.

The platform aims to facilitate the investment process in hedge funds with news, data, research, due-diligence reports and streaming audio and video.

Members Only

At present, offshore investors and advisers may apply for membership on the secure, password-protected platform. Applicants will be reviewed and, based on their qualifications, can access and invest in the platform’s pre-screened list of funds.

Access to client service representatives, who answer questions and facilitate the process of making hedge fund investments, is also available.

Funds Listed

Over 100 single and multi-manager hedge funds have agreed to list their funds on the platform. Availability of these funds will be based on investor, geography, diversity and regulatory considerations.

The funds listed on HedgeWorld FundSelect must be pre-screened to meet requirements set by HedgeWorld Market’s Investment Selection Committee.
