ING Furman Selz Launches Offshore Hedge Funds

August 20, 2001(PLANSPONSOR.com) - ING Furman Selz Asset Management, a unit of ING Aeltus Group, which has been expanding its alternative investment business, has launched two offshore hedge funds.

The funds, which follow the 2000 launch of similar onshore funds, are:

  • Windridge Partners International, which invests in real estate and real estate-related securities, and
  • Anvers Healthcare Investors International, which invests in the securities of companies involved in the development, production or distribution of products and services in the healthcare industry

The launch of Windridge Partners International follows the launch of an onshore fund, Windridge Partners. Both funds? aim to produce returns with limited correlation to traditional securities, while limiting volatility.

Both are long/short US equity hedge funds, which invest in real estate companies that either trade at a discount or have superior growth potential. Investments are also made in high yield preferred equity, special situations and selective arbitrage opportunities in this sector.

Anvers Healthcare Investors International and Anvers Healthcare Investors, LP, an onshore fund, which was launched last year, aim to protect investor’s capital while providing diverse exposure the healthcare industry.
