John Hancock Launches Three New Equity Funds

June 13, 2011 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - John Hancock Mutual Funds announced the release of three new equity funds that are managed by the U.S. Core Value Equity team at John Hancock Asset Management.

The new funds are John Hancock Fundamental Large Cap Core Fund (JFLAX), John Hancock Fundamental Large Cap Value Fund (JFVAX), and John Hancock Fundamental All Cap Core Fund (JFCAX). They are now available for sale to investors through their financial advisers.

The U.S. Core Value Equity team at John Hancock Asset Management, a division of Manulife Asset Management (US) LLC, is led by Walter T. McCormick, CFA, and Emory W. (Sandy) Sanders, Jr., CFA. According to the announcement, the team employs a bottom-up research approach, focusing on financially stable companies with sustainable competitive advantages – such as experienced management teams, cash flow potential and high returns on capital –  that are selling at significant discounts to intrinsic value.

“John Hancock Funds is pleased to add these new funds to our lineup,” said Keith F. Hartstein, President & CEO of John Hancock Funds, in the announcement. “Managed by a premier asset management team with a strong long-term record, these new funds fill important style boxes for our investors.”
