Lack of Time and Motivation Cited for Not Following Health Resolutions

Some respondents to a ComPsych survey indicated friends and family are bad influences.

Three out of five employees say they lack the time or motivation to persist with their New Year’s resolutions, according to Tell It Now survey results released from ComPsych.

Specifically, when asked, “What’s the hardest part about sticking to New Year’s health resolutions?” employees cited:

  • “Finding time to go to the gym / prep healthy meals, etc.” – 35%;
  • “Lack of motivation in general” – 29%;
  • “Distractions such as dinner / drinks invitations” – 15%;
  • “Unhealthy food at work and at home” – 9%; and
  • “Being influenced by friends’ / family’s / coworkers’ unhealthy habits” – 7%.
