Majority of Polled CFOs Say Never Had Mentor
June 1, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - In a recent poll of
more than 1,400 CFOs from US companies with more than 20
employees, an independent research firm found that 58% never
had a mentor, either formally or informally.
Reported by Leslie Ziober
According to results from an Acocountemps’ poll, more than one third (35%) of top executives who worked with mentors said the “single greatest benefit” was having a mentor who served as a confidant or advisor. Of the other top choices, 27% of the polled CFOs who had mentors said their mentors gave them insight into a field or industry, and 21 % said their mentors encouraged them and/or boosted their morale.
