Features of the new product include:
- research and analysis across geographical boundaries and market segments,
- quick custody searches,
- the ability to help clients benchmark current or
prospective custodians’ capabilities and
fees against industry standards and best practices, and
- an option for custodians to update their data online
The Global Custody Database is Mercer Investment Consulting’s newest offering, sitting alongside Mercer’s web-based Global Investment Manager Database (GIMD). According to Mercer, GIMD contains data on more than 8,800 investment strategies offered by some 1,700 money-management firms.
Since its launch in January 2000, GIMD has been used to facilitate more than 1,500 manager searches, according to Mercer.
