Milliman Picks Up Ceridian Denver-Area Plan Service Business

December 2, 2004 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Seattle-based consultant Milliman has agreed to acquire the Denver retirement plan services practice of Ceridian, Milliman announced.

The Denver office of Ceridian serves as a third-party administrator to meet the small-plan recordkeeping and actuarial needs of clients – primarily medical and dental practices – in and around Colorado, Milliman said in a news release.

Laura Van Domelen, a principal in Milliman’s Employee Benefits (EB) Defined Contribution Practice in Denver, said at least some of the Ceridian employees would move to Milliman as part of the deal.

Milliman has 32 offices in the United States as well as offices in Bermuda, Hong Kong, London, Madrid, Mexico City, Milan, Sao Paulo, Seoul and Tokyo and employs approximately 1,800 people, including more than 800 consultants and actuaries.

Milliman USA changed its name from Milliman & Robertson in May 2001 as part of its involvement in forming Milliman Global, a combination of companies targeting the insurance, employee benefits and health care industries.
