Most Still Find Jobs the Old-Fashioned Way

January 31, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Over three-fourths (78%) of Americans have never used an online Web site to find a job, but nearly half (43%) of those under 30 have done so according to a new Zogby poll.

More African Americans (27%) have used the Web to find a job than other races, according to the survey. Only 22% of whites had and 21% of Hispanics.

  • 43% of 18-29 years old have
  • 22% of 30-49 year olds have
  • 14% of 50-64 year olds have done so

None of the respondents older than 65 have ever used the Web to find a job.

Those in the East and West are somewhat more likely to have done so, with 25% in those regions having gone online versus just 22% in the South and 19% in the Central/Great Lakes regions.

The nationwide poll of 1,012 adults has an error margin of +/- 3.2%.
