September 10, 2004 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Eight out of
10 organizations do not plan to commemorate the September
11th attacks, according to an online poll by The Society for
Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Reported by Kip McDaniel
The poll, which had 1,846 respondents, asked HR professionals “Will your organization commemorate the anniversary of the September 11th attacks?” Eighty percent answered “no,” while 10% responded in the affirmative. Some 10% were undecided.
The number of non-celebrants is up sharply from 2003, when 29% of HR professionals stated that their organizations would not commemorate the attacks.
