Pay Raises are Better in D.C.

August 4, 2009 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Washington, D.C. tops the list of 10 U.S. major metro areas for getting a raise in 2009, with a planned salary increase of 2.3% for middle performers, according to WorldatWork.

A press release said Tampa and Boston rank 2nd and 3rd on the WorldatWork list – both awarding average 2.2% salary increases for middle performers. However, workers are more likely to get a raise in Tampa, as nearly eight in ten employers planned raises in 2009, compared to 77% of employers in D.C. and Boston.
