ERISA Attorney David Kaleda Joins Eversheds Sutherland

Eversheds Sutherland announced David Kaleda joined the firm as a partner on its employee benefits team. Kaleda will work closely with the insurance, asset management and financial services practices.
Based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, Kaleda will support existing firm clients and work with colleagues on fiduciary advice, pension risk transfers and the regulatory landscape affecting retirement products.
Kaleda’s background includes fiduciary compliance, prohibited transaction rules and the structuring of alternative investment vehicles, and he has regularly advised clients on Department of Labor regulations and successfully guided firms through the exemption and advisory opinion process.
Ameritas Announces National Sales Director of Retirement Plans

Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. named David Schlageter as national sales director of its retirement plans business. Schlageter is a 35-year industry veteran who specializes in distribution alliances, plan design, third-party administration and adviser education.
“His deep understanding of the business and commitment to coaching and development will empower our regional sales vice president to exceed expectations and deliver value to financial advisors, employers and employees across the country,” said Scott Holechek, vice president of sales, distribution and relationship management, in a statement.
Voya Investment Management Expands Distribution Team
Voya Investment Management announced three new additions to its distribution team: Lynn Flaherty, Greg Khost and Andrew Terry, who will be reporting to Tiffany Potesta, head of distribution.
Flaherty will join mid-August and head the firm’s marketing team. Before joining Voya, Flaherty worked at Schroders, where she developed and executed the marketing strategy for their North American institutional business.
Khost joined Voya in June as managing director and head of intermediary sales. He will oversee the firm’s business development efforts across private wealth markets in the U.S., including broker/dealers, private banks and registered investment advisers. Khost was head of business development for Neuberger Berman Private Wealth and also held sales leadership positions at Deutsche Bank, U.S. Trust and Central Park Group before joining Voya.
Terry began his tenure at Voya in July, as head of insurance solutions. He is tasked with expanding the firm’s investment capabilities for insurance clients. Prior to joining Voya, Terry was a managing director at ACORE Capital.
ISC Group Welcomes Poplarski as SVP of Retirement Services

The ISC Group Inc. announced that Greg H. Poplarski joined its employer-sponsored-plan division as senior vice president.
Poplarski has 31 years of experience in retirement solutions and comes to ISC from OneAmerica, where he served as a retirement services regional vice president.
CFA Institute Appoints Mona Naqvi as Managing Director for Research, Advocacy and Standards

The CFA Institute announced Mona Naqvi as managing director of its research, advocacy and standards division, set to start on September 8.
Naqvi will be tasked with overseeing the CFA Institute Research and Policy Center, the organization’s platform for developing independent research, shaping policy and setting standards.
Prior to joining the CFA Institute, Naqvi held senior leadership positions at S&P Global, was a climate policy advisor to the administration of former President Barack Obama and was an economist at the Bank of England.
Dechert Maintains Adds Rebecca Lee as Partner

Dechert LLP announced Rebecca Lee as a partner in its global tax practice. Lee’s responsibilities will include advising on exchange-traded funds, mutual funds, closed-end funds and common trust funds, as well as credit, hedge and private equity funds.
“Rebecca’s arrival is a testament to our strategic focus on expanding our financial services platform with top-tier talent across all our practice groups,” said Mark Thierfelder, co-chair of Dechert, in a statement. “Her deep knowledge of complex financial products in asset management and digital finance will help us continue to deliver exceptional value to our clients.”
Voya Welcomes Lizzie Moye and Ryan Noto to Wealth Solutions Sales Team

Voya Financial Inc. hired Lizzie Moye as a sales director for its wealth solutions sales team, focused on the mid-market segment in the Southeast. Moye, who started on July 7, is tasked with driving new business development for corporate and tax-exempt retirement plans with assets between $50 and $500 million.
Moye worked for the firm as a senior inside sales associate from 2020 to 2022 and will be based in Chicago.
Ryan Noto joins the firm as a sales director for the company’s wealth solutions sales team, where he will cover emerging markets in the western central region, with a focus on the greater Los Angeles area.
Noto will be responsible for selling 401(k), 403(b), health savings account, nonqualified and employee stock ownership plan products across all distribution channels.
