Saef Departs Pyramis for BNY Mellon

November 10, 2008 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - BNY Mellon Asset Management has named Jeffrey B. Saef director of multi-strategy investment solutions.

Saef, who reports to Phil Maisano, chief investment strategist, is responsible for developing integrated solutions for U.S. clients that combine investment strategies from the asset manager’s investment boutiques, according to the firm.

Saef, who is based in Boston, joins BNY Mellon Asset Management from Pyramis Global Advisors, a Fidelity Investments Company, where he was an executive vice president and director of institutional investment strategies, and most recently managed the development and launch of Pyramis’ institutional lifecycle products.

According to the announcement, he was on the executive management team and responsible for establishing the institutional product line for the firm. His responsibilities also included developing new products and executing new business strategies in international markets, sub-advisory markets, and defined contribution markets.

Saef also had experience at Putnam Investments, where he was a managing director and head of investment strategy and research for its global institutional business. He also spent over a decade as a portfolio manager for both Putnam and Independence Investment Associates.
